URGENT: Google Anti-Trust Hearing – Contact your Representatives!

A Congressional hearing that was originally scheduled for today, “Online Platforms and Market Power, Part 6: Examining the Dominance of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google” which will be held before the House Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial, and Administrative Law, has been delayed to Wednesday, July 29th, 2020, giving us more opportunity as the lodging industry to make our voices heard. If you haven’t already done so, please download this letter, replacing the words in red with your own information, and email it to your representative AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (you can find contact info for your Representative HERE) . Take the time to read the letter if you’re not sure what all the fuss is about – it absolutely, 100% affects every small lodging property owner.

This hearing will consist of the subcommittee questioning Jeff Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Sundar Pichai (CEO of Alphabet, the parent company of Google) and Tim Cook – and it’s extremely important that the committee members understand how Google’s practices are affecting the lodging industry. You can help to educate them by filling out and emailing this letter immediately.

If you are a constituent of any of the committee members, it is even more important that you take this simple step. The members’ districts are: Rhode Island-01, Colorado-02, Colorado-04, Georgia-04, Georgia-06, Maryland-08, Washington-07, Florida-10, Florida-17, Pennsylvania-05, Wisconsin-05, Florida-01, North Dakota-00, Tennessee-09, California-37 and Texas-29.
